Dinner

Oh no. My dreams of sushi and warm sake are cruelly shattered by Compsoc's inability to get a table at Bonsai. Still, it was nice to see everyone again. Compsoc's team won a 5-a-side football tournament, and everyone was happy. Kate was totally knackered from rugby try-outs earlier that day (such a busy life she leads).

I feel kind of bad for saying this, but I'd feel dishonest if I didn't. Chinese Buffet's are bad. Avoid. Mmmkay. Edinburgh has lots of quality Chinese restaurants all over town. Including, but most definitely not limited to:

Loon Fung (Cannonmills)
The Rainbow Arch (Morrison Street)
Kweilin (Frederick Street)
Dragon Way (Southside)
Great Wall (Lothian Road)
Szechuan House (Tollcross)

No one stuck around after the meal, so I went off and did my own thing, which of course involved lots of single malt whisky. For a change, and since my ankle was too sore to be dancing to techno, I went to the Mission. There, I spent four hours jumping around like a nutcase. Someone really needs to point out to me that while dancing is fun, it is no substitute for being able to construct coherent sentences, and that once I realize that I might actually get to know some people.

I did bump into the resident metal head from my work, and I think I said a little more than ten words this time, but it doesn't seem to be the kind of place that facilitates meeting people like Dogma did and Neon does. The evening was a laugh though, so I will go back.
